More Home-Grown Entertainment

In the continuing tradition of making our own entertainment, SunStorm has set everyone a new challenge – a game of tactical and consensual violence. (And much kudos to SunStorm for organizing this!)

The challenge is set out in the Illyriad Forums, and allows people to besiege and siege-break, in a struggle for ownership of seven cities. And, though a couple of the settlements are pretty puny, there are also some nice plump prizes for the victors.

Grabbing the best cities might well be beyond most individual players, as these could be hotly contested*. But that’s what alliances are for! What might be beyond one person alone would be well within the reach of a group of established alliance-mates coordinating their actions.

Let battle commence, and let everyone enjoy the unfolding drama!

* (At least, I hope these will be hotly contested. In recent weeks a number of players have shown considerable zeal in piling into absurdly one sided wars, which presumably no-one could actually enjoy (unless they enjoy making themselves feel more potent at someone else’s expense.) Here we have the chance for people to engage in a balanced challenge that will leave no-one feeling aggrieved or bullied. I would hope that there will be plenty of people wading in to the fray!)

About Kurdruk

Kurdruk is a fictitious character. Specifically, he is a fictitious Orc. Orcs are, of course, a fictitious race. And so, being a fictitious member of a fictitious race, it is unsurprising that Kurdruk lives in a fictitious land - Illyria. So it is no surprise that Kurdruk's great wisdom relates to life in the realm of Illyria - in other words, in Illyriad.
